Members of the Prison Ministry make periodic visits to inmates at prison facilities in and around the vicinity of Austin, Texas. They assist the Chaplaincy Department by extending services to offenders of all faiths in hopes of aiding them in their spiritual growth. Reading the Bible or other religious materials, discussions, and prayers are always part of the visitation agenda. The show of friendship via smiles and encouragement are key ingredients of a successful visit. These opportunities for volunteers and inmates to participate in religious activities are supervised and carried out in a manner that neither endangers the safety of individuals nor interferes with orderly operations of the Agency.
